ENR-161: Introduction to Excel and Programming

Course Description
Students will be introduced to methods for solving a variety of engineering related problems using Microsoft Excel and Python-based programming. Microsoft Excel topics will include functions, graphing, matrices, linear regression, statistics, and root finding. Students will analyze and evaluate data using Excel to draw conclusions. Students will use python to create programs that include a variety of data types, functions, and loops. The course will conclude with a design project using python to build and code a robot to accomplish a task. This unit will introduce objects, methods, and classes. At the end of the semester, students will prepare and deliver written and oral reports documenting their design process.
Prerequisites
MTH 165 with a grade of C or higher, or MCC Level 9 Mathematics placement or higher.
